I’ve been a Sox fan for over 60 years and it’s been my experience that how well the sox do in pre-season is contingent to how well they do in Spring training…the worse they do in ST, the better they do in regular season…not compared to how the yankees or anyone else does. I get your point and it’s valid. I was only sharing what experience tells me

I hope the announcers do a better job during the regular season. I watched a game the other night and they didn’t even tell you who was up. They showed a little of the game but mostly it was a bunch of jerks giving us their opinions!

Good one…I have to go with |Bill Lee. I would pick Jimmy Piersall but he had problems that went beyond eccentricity.

I don’t have a problem with anybody that can contribute to winning. I’m not familiar with Gomes, but if he can do the job, I don’t. My remark was based on the configuration of Fenway Park being condusive to Swisher’s hitting. I’m interested in winning not personalities

I’m not watching any more pre-season games. The announcers are so bad they barely mention what’s going on in the game, they just inundate you with their opinions, one inane blathering after another. Guys you’re not that interesting, get a clue!

I would say no individual…but the entire pitching staff. The three ring circus involving Bobby V. was distracting but the pitching staff showed me NOTHING!

He hasn’t demonstrated he can pitch yet…showing up out of shape shows a lack of dedication and when you’re as bad as he is that’s dangerous!

I’ve been a Red Sox fan for 60+ years…let’s hope for a bad spring training. Experience tells me that the better they do during ST the worse they do during the regular season. Conversely, a bad ST means a great year!
